Lipstick Storage and Autumn Favourites

There is one things that you do not know about me.. I am absolutely crazy about Pugs!
So it was inevitable that my lipsticks for this season would be put into a cute mug that had a picture of  a Pug on it.
Now I bet you're wondering why I have my autumn collection of lipsticks in a broken mug. I bought this mug yesterday from Primark, it was near the till as I was going to pay for my things and it was only £1.50! Obviously I was going to buy it. Anyway, I only had it a couple of  hours before I dropped it and the handle fell off. I didn't was to throw it away as it is so cute, so I decided that I would put my lipsticks in it! Great storage right?!

Now, onto my Autumn favourites! I will try to link every lipstick that I can find, however some of them are limited edition or they have been discontinued.

Starting from the Estee Lauder lipstick on the second image:

Estee Lauder - Plum Couture
M.A.C/Lady Gaga Collection - 02 (Limited Edition)
Rimmel/Kate Moss Collection - 30
Passion - Light Pink
Revlon - Stormy Pink/011
Passion - Deep Red
17 - Pink Posey
Avon - Intimate
Models Own - Sheer Sparkle
Avon - Doll Pink
Passion - Light Red
P.S. Love... (Primark) - Red
Avon - Plum Fun

My favourite autumn lipsticks vary in colour, as I like to match my lipstick to either my nails, or have it match the colours that I am wearing that day.
Naturally I have a lot of red and purple tones in my collection, as it is autumn and it's time for the darker colours to come out and to put the spring/summer colours to bed for the new season. I personally like to keep a few pink shades in collection, because some days I like to have more of a 'my lips but better' look, rather than a dark or red lip.

I know this isn't a very long post, but I haven't had the chance to post as I have been so busy at University! But that's for another day and another blog post.

B. Flawless Foundation review

Brand: B.
Product: B. Flawless Foundation
Colour: 010 Linen
Price: £5 (original price around £10)
Rate: 10/10

When I was at school, I didn't wear foundation, I wore a LOT of eyeliner! (I didn't realise how much I actually wore until I looked at some old school photos).
Anyway, I have only been wearing foundation for about a year, so I have been on the lookout for the right foundation for me. In the past year, I have tried a few foundations, such as; Collection and Rimmel. I thought that I would start with a Collection foundation, as they're very inexpensive so it didn't really matter if I didn't like it. The foundation that I used throughout autumn 2013 to summer 2014, was Rimmel London's Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation, in 010 Light Porcelain. I liked it at first, but then it started to become very "cakey" and it wasn't very good for my skin.

I was shopping in Superdrug, when I came across a brand that I hadn't seen before. I'm not sure how long it has been sold in Superdrug, as I had never seen it before. As I was talking to one of the sales assistants, she mentioned that B. (the brand) was a part of Superdrugs own brand. She recommended the B. Flawless, 16 hour wear, complete coverage foundation as it wasn't a mousse and it wouldn't be as harsh on my face. She also recommended that I get the foundation in the colour: 010 Linen.
This foundation was very inexpensive as it was on sale, so I got it for around £5 and after the sale it will go back up to the original price, which I think is around £10.

I have been using the B. Flawless foundation for about a month now, and I am really enjoying it! I definitley recommend this one over the Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse.
This foundation gives you a bit of coverage, but not too much (you can still see my freckles when I wear this foundation), and it is long-lasting, which I exactly what I wanted in a foundation. I didn't want it to be too heavy or thick, and this foundation definitley is the perfect one for me.

The B. flawless foundation will last a long time, as you only need one squirt of it to cover your whole face. It is long-lasting, which means you do not need to reapply it at all during the day. Once you put your finishing powder over the top of it, it stays in place, it doesn't come off and you get incredible results. As the name states, it makes your skin flawless!

I am extremely excited about this brand, as they sell different products, such as; mascara, face primer, eyeliner and cleansing water. It is really inexpensive too, which means it's good for if you're on a budget, but you want products that do what they say and actually work.

I will definitely be repurchasing this foundation again and probably a lot more of their products. I would highly recommend both this foundation and this brand to everyone!

Estēe Lauder Pure Color lipstick review

Brand: Estēe Lauder
Product: Pure Color Lipstick
Colour: Plum Couture
Price: £21
Rate: 10/10

I went to Boots today, and I somehow "stumbled" across the Estēe Lauder make up counter. Now I wouldn't normally buy anything from the more high end counters, I usually stick to the Collection and Rimmel London make up counters. Today I picked up my results from my college and found out that I had passed my Fashion Design course with a D*D*D*. (For those who don't know, a D* is the highest possible grade you can get on my course)! So, I was in the mood to treat myself for all of my hard work and effort over the last two years.

Now I am definitely a lipstick kind of girl. I don't think I can count how many I actually have! (If I could only have one make up product for the rest of my life, it would be lipstick). So it was inevitable that I was going to buy myself a new lipstick.
This is the Estēe Lauder Pure Color, Long Lasting Lipstick, in the colour Plum Couture, and it was £21. Now, I think that £21 is very expensive for a lipstick, but with this one you are definitely getting your money's worth!

Can we all just take a moment of appreciation for the packaging please? The gorgeous lipstick is packaged in a very sleek, gold lid. The bottom of the packaging is clear and you can see the colour of the lipstick through it. The lid is separated from the lipstick tube by a gold band, which has the Estēe Lauder logo on it.
The actual lipstick itself is basically as the name describes. Plum Couture is the perfect name for this lipstick, as it is a gorgeous deep plum colour, with a sort of mauve, reddish undertone. (Perfect for Autumn/Winter). It isn't a matte lipstick unfortunately, but it is super moisturising and you do not need to build it up to see the colour, like you do with other lipsticks.

I personally love this lipstick, and I think I may possibly go back for other colours in the future. I would definitely recommend this lipstick to anyone and if you haven't tried it, you should! This is undoubtably my most favourite lipstick and I've only had it a day!

Red Faux Suede Heels

First of all, I would just like to apologise for the image being at the bottom of the post rather than the top. I know it does not fit with the theme, but I'm having a bit of a problem with my phone at the moment.

I found these amazing red, faux suede heels in a charity shop called Barnardo's. Now I know what you're thinking: "Wearing shoes that someone else has worn? No thank you!" But these heels look as if they have only been tried on and worn around the shop.

As soon as I got them home, I cleaned them and made sure that they were good enough to be worn. So I don't have to worry about wearing them after someone else has.
I originally got these shoes for a photoshoot that I was doing with O-Ten Photography as I didn't know exactly what I was going to wear. The shoot was very editorial and so much fun!
These heels are originally from New Look and they would have cost around £25/£30. However, I got these gorgeous shoes for £6!

The heels are six inches high and as I'm only 5ft 5, these heels make me 5ft 11. As the heel is quite high, you would think that they would be quite difficult to walk in. I personally can walk in them quite well, but not only are they quite easy to walk in, they are amazingly comfortable! I didn't get any blisters or anything like that when I wore these heels which is a bonus! The colour of these heels are in between red and pink, but I think that they are more red with a pink undertone. These shoes have a patent heel, they are a platform shoe and the platform is also patent. I think that the contrast of the materials used for these heels works really well and if the whole shoe was patent, it wouldn't have the same effect. There is a decorative bow on the front of the shoes and they are made from the same faux suede as the rest of the shoe, and they are outlined with red binding. Finally, the shoes have a T Bar support strap and the fastening buckle is gold hardware.

I think that these red, faux suede heels were an amazing find especially in a charity shop.
I'm hoping to maybe use them in a night out/evening look book, as it is my 18th birthday in a few weeks and I know that I will get a lot of use out of them.

Large black bag from Matalan

http://www.matalan.co.uk/mobile/product/detail/s2550837

Now I would normally go to Primark for a bag, because of the affordable price.
However, while I was out shopping I found this amazing black bag from Matalan!

This bag has so much storage space and the amount of stuff you can actually fit into it is astounding. And us girls sure have a lot of stuff!
The style of this bag is so simple and I think it definitely only works in one colour, as the texture and pattern of this bag compliment the colour perfectly. This black bag has a zip to fasten the bag, two zips on the back of the bag and one on the inside of the bag for extra storage. There are also two pockets on the inside of the bag. There are two ways to carry this bag, two handles and a shoulder strap, this makes it so much easier to carry if your arm gets tired!

Now I only discovered this bag yesterday , but had I known about it while I was at college it would have made things so much easier! As I studied Fashion and Design at college, I had to carry a lot of sketchbooks and fabric. It wasn't necessary, but I also carried my own pins and stitch ripper etc. So as you'd be able to imagine, my bag which was much smaller would be rather heavy. If I had a lot of sketchbooks to carry I would use a tote bag, but they're a bit pointless if it's raining or bad weather aren't they?

I picked this bag up from it's rail, it practically jumped into the trolley... and the price tag said £15. Now I (my mum), was going to pay that because it was such a nice bag, until she turned the price tag over and it said £10! How great is that? £10 for a super sturdy, strong, black, pleather bag with a tonne of storage and that just looks pretty amazing in general? You can't really go wrong can you?

I would recommend this bag to anyone! That is how highly I think of it. If anyone needs a new bag, I would definitely get this one!

Maxi dress at Boohoo.com

Sandy Scoop Neck Maxi Dress at Boohoo.com

Boohoo stock some amazing clothes, shoes and accessories, but what really made this maxi dress stand out was how floaty the material looks against the model who is wearing it.
This maxi dress is made from jersey, a soft poly fabric with stretch. I personally I like this maxi dress in Grey Marl, because it makes it easier to pair it with bright accessories, such as; a satchel, a pair of sandals and a statement necklace to finish the look.

The colours that you can choose from are; Black, Bright Green, Cerise, Cobalt, Coral, Cream, Denim-Blue, Grey Marl, Lilac, Lime, Lipstick, Mint, Orange, Turquoise and Yellow. This amazing maxi dress looks beautiful in each of these colours and there is a colour for everyone!
This maxi dress has a scoop neckline, which means that it is not tight around the neck, and it works with this style of dress, because it is floor length.

Not only does this maxi dress come in a range of amazing colours, use soft, figure skimming material, it is only  £10! For such an amazing price, this maxi dress should be a staple piece in your wardrobe. As it is such a simple piece of clothing, this dress can be used season after season if it is accessorised properly.

Fashion Design Drawing Course

Fashion Design Drawing Course by Caroline Tatham & Julian Seaman

This is a book that my Nana gave me on my birthday in 2008.
This book means a lot to me, because of two things; I was given it when I had just decided that I wanted to be a fashion designer, and. Because of the message inside "Enjoy this book and practice hard. Aim for art college and always remember you can make your dream come true."

This book has four chapters:
*Finding Inspiration
*Illustrating Fashion
*Planning and Designing
*Communicating your Vision

Each of the chapters has a few units and they range from investigating architecture,  small details - big ideas, drawing from life, illustrating bold print, planning a range and the practicalities of presentation.

I have read this book so many times that it is permanently edged into my brain.
The ideas and the way this book explains how to do things is so amazing that it seems simple, and I think anyone knows that fashion design is not simple at all.
Not only does this book show you what different types of media to use, it shows you how to use it, and how to create different types of figures.

I love the fact that this book includes a unit on technical working drawings, going into detail on he different varieties of shapes, figures, layering and considering angles.
It goes through colour palettes, details on putting together a collection, customer appeal and suitable fabrics.

I couldn't give Caroline Tatham and Julian Seaman enough praise for this book and I would recommend it to every budding designer out there.
