Fashion Design Drawing Course by Caroline Tatham & Julian Seaman |
This is a book that my Nana gave me on my birthday in 2008.
This book means a lot to me, because of two things; I was given it when I had just decided that I wanted to be a fashion designer, and. Because of the message inside "Enjoy this book and practice hard. Aim for art college and always remember you can make your dream come true."
This book has four chapters:
*Finding Inspiration
*Illustrating Fashion
*Planning and Designing
*Communicating your Vision
Each of the chapters has a few units and they range from investigating architecture, small details - big ideas, drawing from life, illustrating bold print, planning a range and the practicalities of presentation.
I have read this book so many times that it is permanently edged into my brain.
The ideas and the way this book explains how to do things is so amazing that it seems simple, and I think anyone knows that fashion design is not simple at all.
Not only does this book show you what different types of media to use, it shows you how to use it, and how to create different types of figures.
I love the fact that this book includes a unit on technical working drawings, going into detail on he different varieties of shapes, figures, layering and considering angles.
It goes through colour palettes, details on putting together a collection, customer appeal and suitable fabrics.
I couldn't give Caroline Tatham and Julian Seaman enough praise for this book and I would recommend it to every budding designer out there.
